Dedicated to the memory of Linda Robbins

This site is a tribute to Linda Robbins. She is much loved and will always be remembered.

Linda was born on 30th August 1956 in Reading, the first of two children to her parents Barbara and Barry Keenor who named her Linda Ann.

Linda grew up with her sister Jackie, and as a young girl, loved to go horse riding with her school friends, and going to watch Reading Football Club play, a love that has stayed with her throughout her life.

Linda attended Ryeish Green Secondary School in Reading and on completing her schooling she went onto Secretarial College.  After completing her course, she moved here, to Torquay, to stay with her grandmother and she took a job working in a firm of solicitors, as well as doing bar work in the evenings working at Torquay’s Hideaway Nightclub.

Linda returned to Reading, where she met Michael Robbins they married on 18th August 1984, and have two children, Mark and Michelle.

It was around 1987 that Linda along with Mark and Michelle moved to Torquay, where Linda was a busy Mum, he also took a job working behind the bar at the Haywain Pub in Sherwell Valley.

Then in the late 1980s, Linda was hosting a Bar-B-Que in the garden, when a neighbour Denis Dolan, jumped over the wall and basically gate-crashed, and let it be said, never really left.

Denis and Linda were regulars at the Haywain, where Linda loved to play Darts, which was a keen interest for her.  Linda also loved her family, her 5 grandchildren Rebecca, Chloe, Elliott, Dominic, and Caoimhe.

8 years ago was a very difficult time, losing both her own mother and Dennis within months of each other, and this really did hit Linda quite hard, however she loved to be at home, watching the TV and in the garden feeding the birds.

Most of all, she loved her family, she would do anything for anyone, always with such a good sense of humour. A much loved and missed, mother, grandmother, sister and of course friend to us all.
